As I retire from Electro-Federation Canada in May, I am truly optimistic about the future of EFC and know that the association will be in great hands as Carol McGlogan moves into her new role as President & CEO.

Carol will be play an instrumental role in adapting/transforming this industry association based on changing technologies and the new business environment. If EFC is to represent the Canadian electrical industry, it needs to change.

Our EFC Research Committee has selected the topic of low-voltage DC power and is determining how this technology will change our industry — particularly the channel. Early research findings indicate that new product sections can be added to strengthen EFC’s program, new distributors can be included as members, and new channels investigated for inclusion. We also need to develop relations with evolving influencers and end-users (integrators).

Carol is the perfect leader to apply the information from the industry research and help change EFC. She

  • is already well networked in our industry
  • knows and has worked with EFC staff
  • has chaired EFC’s former Electrical Channel and the EFC Board of Directors
  • has a strong marketing background and can offer strategic expertise
  • understands the emerging technologies (e.g., low-voltage DC power)
  • has strong interpersonal and communication skills

I have known Carol for many years and consider her a good friend. She has my total support in helping her transition into the new position. I encourage you to please give her your support as well. EFC is lucky to have Carol McGlogan as its new president.

Well... The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines the word tone as an “accent or inflection expressive of a mood or emotion, the pitch of a word often used to express differences of meaning.” Aka… tone, is the way we say something and creates emotion.
